The South Bay Los Gatos Aquatic Club
had 5 swimmers attend The Pacific Swimming Junior Olympic Long
Course Swimming Championships at the
Soda
Aquatic
Center
in
Moraga
on
July
15-18, 2010
. The meet was attended by over 100
Teams and over 1000 athletes from all over
California
.
SBLG came out firing from the start and did not let up
until the last race was finished. The Team had 95% best times during
the meet and dropped over 50 seconds combined from their
previous best times.
The swimmers of the meet for SBLG were Natalie Soive (11)
who had best times in all 6 events that she swam and made the
finals, top eight swimmers, in the 50 Breaststroke (8th)
and 200 Breaststroke (6th). Natalie had a fantastic swim in
the 200 Breaststroke moving from 30th to 6th
place and dropping 12 seconds overall. After making finals for the
first time, Natalie said “I never thought I would be able to
make a final, I am so happy.”
Abbigale Berry (10) had an outstanding meet as well
getting best times in all 7 of her events and qualifying for second
alternate (10th) in the 100 Free and 11th in
the 200 Free. In both races Abbi combined to drop over 11 seconds.
When asked about her meet Abbis’ smile said it
all.
