Coach Nicholas Jufiar
Co-Founded the South Bay Aquatic Club with his brother Mike in
2008. Before coming to South Bay Aquatic Club he was Head Coach of
the Pala Rancho Summer Swim Team in 2008, Head Age Group Coach for
the Sunnyvale Swim Club in 2005-2008, Assistant Coach for Sunnyvale
Swim Club in 2000-2005, and Head Aquatic Professional for Kona Kai
Swim and Racquet Club in 2001-2004. Currently Coach Nick is
in his first year coaching the Boys and Girls Swim Teams at
Pinewood High School in Los Altos.
In 2005, Coach Nick was
awarded the Pacific Swimming Age Group Coach of the Year and in
2006 the Zone I North Volunteer of the Year. In the pool, his
swimmers have achieved National Top 16 Rankings with the highest
being Third place, a Pacific Swimming Record Holder, and multiple
Junior Olympic and Far Western Qualifiers, Finalists, and
Champions. He is a Certified Level 3 member of American Swimming
Coaches Association.
Coach Nick was the Head Coach
for the Pacific Swimming Western Zone All Star Team in 2005 &
2006 and Head Coach for the Zone 1 North All Star Team in 2002
– 2006. He has also had the pleasure of being the Head Coach
of the Pacific Swimming 10/Under “Q” Camp from 2002
– 2007. Most recently Coach Nick was the Zone I South
13-14 Girls Coach at the Pacific Swimming Zone All-Star
Meet.
Coach Nick began his
swimming career at the age of seven for the South Valley Swim Team
in San Jose. Nick spends his free time playing disc golf, swimming,
running, and hiking.

Andrew Kikuta

Began swimming competitively at the age of 8 for San Jose
Aquatics. At the age of 13, switched to Valley Splash until
he went to college. Swam on the Western Zones All-Star
Team with Coach Nick in both 2005 and 2006. Andrew
attended Valley Christian High School where he was a CCS qualifier,
Finalist, and High School All-American in the 200 IM.
Attended UC Irvine where he swam for 2 years. Finished 7th at
Big West Championships as a Freshman. Currently goes to West
Valley College and is majoring in Accounting. Favorite
strokes are Freestyle and Backstroke.
Andrew has been coaching for 2 years (summers) for Shadow
Brook Swim Club, a summer team in Almaden, as an assistant
coach. He has also been teaching swim lessons for 7
years. This is his first year round coaching job as well
as first year at South Bay Los Gatos Aquatic Club.
In his free time Andrew enjoys playing guitar, snowboarding, and
hanging out with friends.
